“Freed Spirits” Exposes The Mysteries Of Historic Oakland Cemetery
SEPTEMBER 23 – OCTOBER 30
We’ve all had a hunch that Atlanta’s Oakland Cemetery is haunted, and in Horizon Theatre’s world-premiere production of “Freed Spirits”, our suspicions are confirmed.
In this mystery-comedy, written by the Theatre’s Daryl Fazio, lone outcast Susan leads tours through the hallowed ground, although she rarely has visitors to guide. She is hoping for a change in her bland life when a tornado tears through the cemetery.
In its path of destruction, hidden clues turn up and conjure ghostly sightings. In the wake of the tornado, Susan meets a band of kooky characters: a steampunk survivalist, a retired pathologist and a spirit photographer. The group attempts to solve the mysterious clues while encountering obstacles along the way. Shows are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $25.
