Midtown java junkies can now get a fix at the newest location of Octane. The latest outpost of the popular coffee shop opened in early August at Woodruff Arts Center. The coffee shop is sleek and contemporary and is part of a $13 million major overhaul of the building that includes an expansive facelift for the Alliance Theatre. This makes the fourth Atlanta location for Octane. The menu includes all of your favorite coffee drinks, plus craft cocktails and beer.
Gusto!, the fastcasual concept that started in the Brookwood Hills neighborhood, opened a second location across from Ponce City Market in July. The super-efficient spot serves dishes based on fresh ingredients and a three-step menu of greens, brown rice or wrap, protein and sauce.
The Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q and Taqueria del Sol Hogs for the Cause team (dubbed “Foxeria del Sol”) recently donated $50,000 to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The money will be used to create the Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q/ Taqueria del Sol Patient Room. Patient rooms house children who are receiving inpatient care for cancer and blood disorders and are outfitted with sleeping accommodations for parents, work-stations, privacy blinds, televisions and VCR/DVD players. Since May 2015, Hogs for the Cause has granted $66,000 to 35 families being treated at the center.
