MENU MAKEOVERS
What’s New & Noteworthy in Food
Three hot dining spots recently revamped their menus, and we’re dishing the details.
Just in time for its one-year anniversary, Midtown’s Tavernpointe celebrated with a totally revamped menu featuring dishes that combine contemporary American cuisine and Latin influences. Flavorful Peruvian-style smoked meats make up the backbone of the menu, and classic American dishes are spiced up with rojo chile. Check out the Peruvian chicken tacos, grilled flatbread with saffron-marinated shrimp or steak and yucca frites to see just what we mean.

Though chef Mike Blydenstein hasn’t made major changes to the menu, he has added new lunch options to the offerings at The Mercury at Ponce City Market. The Nooner includes a build your own sandwich and salad to-go option, which is perfect if you don’t have time to stay. He also added more lunch choices—think grilled chicken, tuna fish salad and corned beef sandwiches.

Meat and charcuterie are the soul of The Cockentrice in Krog Street Market. But chef/owners and husband-and-wife team Kevin and Megan Ouzts, who are also behind the much-celebrated boutique charcuterie house The Spotted Trotter, were ready to branch out after a year. The result? A new menu that now includes tons of delicious veggie, seafood and pasta dishes as well. The beet-and-ricotta salad is almost too pretty to eat, as is the “study in vegetables,” a veggie plate on steroids. But don’t let that stop you. Trust us.
